This Unit tells us how to teach receptive skills. By receptive skills, we understand reading and listening. The purposes for reading and listening can be divided into two categories: reading for a purpose or for entertainment. Depending on the purpose of reading and listening, there are different skills which we're using to find and understand the information we need. The teachers' aim is to teach students to use this skills. The main conclusion I made is that a teacher should choose the exercises for reading and listening very carefully in order to make students interested and build their confidence. If the teacher is using the materials which are too difficult, students will get confused and might lose their confidence. If the materials are too easy, students' receptive skills won't be developing.
