Writing and speaking are productive skills. Speaking skills are used throughout the class and are easy to correct and understand in real time. Writing skills, however, are taught less frequently and often left to avenues such as homework. Where they aren't getting done properly or the teachers are unable to review them. Writing is different from speaking in its usages of grammatical structure and vocabulary are more focused on accuracy as opposed to fluency. Writing relies on proper handwriting, spelling, layout, and punctuation, making it in some ways the more difficult, but not more important skill than speaking. While creative writing allows for students to understand different forms of writing, classroom games can be used to help further all language skills in the classroom if utilized properly.
