Unit 8 discusses mostly the 4 future tenses with some discussion of the going+infinitive and the two present continuous tenses. The future simple tense is for predictions, promises, and future facts and certainties. The future continuous tense is to predict the present, polite enquiries, and to say something will be in progress in a particular moment in the future. The future perfect is to express something that will have been done by a certain time. The future perfect continuous is used to express how long something will have continued by a certain time. The going+infinitive is used for intentions, plans, and predictions with evidence. The present simple is used for schedules, impersonal tones, and a formal situation. The present continuous is used for arrangements and plans without time frames.
