In this unit about Phonology, I have learned so much about phonetic script and pronunciation. This is the first time I have been exposed to this material and I found the information to be a bit challenging. With the phonetic script, I felt as if I were learning the secret to decode an encrypted language. It was fun, at the same time frustrating. I know that I will need to invest more time and familiarize myself with the phonemic symbols so that they are more readily recognizable to me. I found it fascinating to practice making sounds and understanding what parts of our anatomy comprise sounds. It is absolutely and area I would personally like to dedicate more time to understanding, as I know it will be helpful to show and demonstrate for students to know how to produce the proper sounds as well.
