The unit gave great advice about what to focus on when it comes to productive skills when teaching, such as punctuation and penmanship may not be as important as correct spelling or layout. The ideas of using games and activities to help promote learning these productive skills was very interesting as well, especially with some of the games that I first would not have thought about using in such instances, such as clue. I can see how that can be adapted to get students talking to one another. I feel however that teaching productive skills can be done much more passively then other skills, as they are skills that the students will have to use and develop to complete any task, therefore using the games and activities in other lessons will help reinforce the confidence of the skills amongst the students.
