This unit taught me the grammar points of conditions and reported speech, and how to teach them. This unit in particular taught me the forms and usages of the zero, first, second, third and mixed conditions before following up with a variety of nifty suggestions on activities and methods that can be employed in the classroom to help teach this grammar point. The unit also introduced me to reported speech and direct speech, after distinguishing the differences between each the unit then taught me how and when the tense changes when direct speech is reported back. In addition to this the unit covered how the expression of time can change such as when speech goes from present to past when reported. The unit finished with a few helpful suggestions to aid in the teaching of reported speech within the class.
