This unit was interesting to learn about the different types of tests and evaluation methods. We have practice tests which are used in preparation for the external tests used for universities or certificates. There are diagnostic tests and placement tests which help teachers place students into groups and understand what skills and shortfalls the students have. Diagnostic tests are used more for the lesson planning and understanding of their strengths and weaknesses while the placement test is used by the school to put the child into the correct class and level. We learned about how to evaluate with tutorials, student evaluation, and tests to view progress. We learned about external tests for different uses such as certificates in english speaking for business subjects or for admission into university.
