The first video was absolutely painful to watch. He did everything wrong! He did not explain the lesson and kept repeating the same words over and over even when the class clearly did not comprehend what he was saying. He was incredibly patronizing and kept saying how easy it was. He hardly interacted with the students, and there was almost no STT. The exercises were pointless as he gave them the answers anyway, which made it impossible to get a sense of what the class level (both collective and individual) was. When asked a question, he responded with, \"I'll tell you later.\" No visual examples or gestures. He spoke so fast and garbled that I could hardly understand him, and I'm a native speaker. If I was a student in that class, I would be so uncomfortable. I wouldn't want to speak up, and I doubt I would learn anything. If it were an optional class, I would not go to another lesson. The second lesson however, was a much needed breath of fresh air. He started the lesson smiling and immediately learned their names. He used gestures and mimes and had the students interacting with one another. He kept the intensity up with timed activities and games. There was a significant amount of STT, and he didn't hand feed them the answers. There was individual pronunciation drilling, and he was very respectful during this. Lastly, each part of the lesson flowed smoothly from E to S to A.
