It is a good idea to plan the lessons because it helps us to keep on target and recording the class content shows how to cover the class if you are ill. There are basic principles of lesson planning like keeping the lesson simple , trying not to script the lesson ,maintaining the same structure, writing the anticipated time for each activity, checking the balance of skills and keeping it flexible. We need to be organised before we start the lesson. Also we need to consider learner objectives, personal aims, language point ,teaching aids, anticipated problems (for the students and teacher), prosedure , phase (engage / study / activate), timing, interaction, class level , number of students, date/ time. Besides this, we need to monitor the lessons. We need to think of planning a sequence of lessons. Flexibility, goals, revision and variety and balance are important subjects to consider. To give an example of ESA phase on subject of the present perfect tense, For engage phase, we can start asking questions about the experience of the students. For example, Have you ever been to a rock concert / Sydney...? We can discuss it. Then , for study phase, we can write the answers on the board and highlight and drill the contracted form of the structure, then for the activate phase , students can create a quiz questions using present perfect tense , ask the questions each other and report to the class.
