I have learnt the correlation between what it takes to be a 'good teacher', and the motivational factors that play a substantial role when it comes to being a 'good learner'. The breakdown and understanding of this information compliments the overall structure and relationship between a 'good teacher' and a 'good learner'. Reflecting upon UNIT 1, I have acquired a clear understanding of all the different roles and responsibilities teachers must possess. Factors such as personality, certain characteristics, the relationship between both teacher & student, being aware of all the different roles that a teacher needs to demonstrate during class and why, and the the timing of these roles along with the overall understanding behind certain motivational factors for a student wanting to learn English is also very important. As a teacher, it is crucial to consider different factors when it comes to your students such as age, learning experience (if any), motivation, behaviour, cultural differences and as these factors may present themselves in the ability, or inability to learn and progress as a student. The understanding of all the different levels of language is also important. In conclusion to all the information I have learnt; it is important to care about your ability to teach, but a good teacher will care more about the learning of their students. 'Good teachers' will have 'good students'. Thank you.
