Unit 3 offers some concise hands-on material to move from theory to the daily practice of teaching. It starts presenting the various methodologies in the field of education, especially when the focus is on which one gives the best long-term results. Despite some major differences, most of the methodologies agree upon some fundamental points, which might be summarised in: use variety, keep in mind the levels of the students, create interesting material, be aware of cultural differences as well as local language, and avoid negative feedbacks. The offered ESA methodology consists of 3 parts: engage, study and activate. The given guidelines are intended to be a useful and flexible tool to address the various differences among students and classes. Each part contains lots of example of possible activities, along with simple tips on how to boost their effectiveness. The final part deals with correction and feedback - as they are two both fundamental elements in the learning process and for self-awareness. Along with the three possible correction techniques (self-made, student-student, teacher-student), I was given advice when and how correct. The goal is to bring correction back to the learning process, instead of making it a judgment on the students? values. The code system suggested to correct writing tasks was more than useful and I am personally looking forward to introducing it to my future lessons.
