This unit provided some insight into potential practical problems English teachers may most likely encounter when teaching a class. I found that one of the most difficult challenges may relate to using English only when communicating with the class, irrespective of the classes level of proficiency and understanding. The establishment of good rapport between the students and teacher may however assist in overcoming the frustrations that may arise from this issue. The creation of good, friendly but professional relations in the class may serve to be of key importance throughout the proceedings of the class and learning. Ice breakers, such as pass the ball and sharing games will be effective for false beginner classes, who have some idea of how to communicate in English. Completely beginner classes may require games that allow more teacher talk time that student talk time in order for students to develop their grammar and vocabulary. Ultimately, the most important people in the English class are the students and it is vital that the teacher maximizes on learning the student's objectives and effectively teaching the class according to personal levels and goals.
