In unit 1 I learned about the qualities and roles of a teacher and about the differences between adults and young learners and what they can bring to the classroom; also, I learned about the characteristics of each language level. First, some of the most important qualities of a good teacher are that they love teaching, care about his or her students' learning, they motivate the students, and have a large knowledge of the subject they are teaching. When we love teaching and care about the learning of our students, we are able to show all the other good characteristics that all teachers should possess. Now, some of the teachers' roles are being an organizer, facilitator, manager, prompter, participant, monitor, and model. As an organizer, the teacher should group or pair the students appropriately. As a facilitator, she creates activities that help the students learn the topic; and as a manager, the teacher directs the students through the lesson giving instructions. Finally, some of the differences between adults and young learners in the classrooms could be their behavior, their motivation, their learning experience, their culture, and their language level. To conclude, I think that when a teacher loves teaching and the students, everything flows very well in the classroom, and students become (if they are not) good learners. That will bring harmony and the perfect learning environment that the students want to find.
