Teach English in Wangcungang Zhen - Zhanjiang Shi
In the classroom teachers can encounter in different problem situations. During the first lesson is important for the teacher to establish rapport with the students. They can be a new group, so they don't know each other, or an existing group. The teacher should find out about students' needs, interests and English level. This will allow the teacher to plan future lessons. At the beginnig of a lesson is fundamental to get the students warmed up and in the mood for English. Teacher can use warmers, that are short, fun and communicative activities. They are especially useful if they can be linked in to the study phase of the lesson. An other big problem that the teacher has to face is the different English level of the students. He/she can decide to use different material, the same material but assigned different tasks, pair strong students with the weaker ones or let each student find his/her level. As English teacher soon or later you will find a large class. To make the lessons easier and more enjoyable the teacher can use worksheet, pair/group work, coral repetition and appoint group leaders. Sometimes in the classroom there are reluctant students who don't want to talk or partecipate. Teacher can try to involved this kind of students using pair work, controlled practice and role-play. The use of native tounge of the students during the lessons and the difficulties with listening texts have been discussed in previous chapters.
