Unit 5 is all about teaching themes. When teaching a business english class, the so called \"case studies\" are one of the most useful and versatile theme to employ. This is because, as said earlier, BE classes are often limited in time and number so it is important to select themes that allow students to practice multiple skills at the same time while keeping their interest high using real life examples. Case studies can be used to both verify and practice topics that have been already covered and at the same time introduce new topics to the class. Careful selection of the material is extremely important, expecially when using authentic material. Frameworking is a model that allows BE students to analyze and describe a process of change inside a given timeframe, using the Input-Process-Output stages. Problem-based learning, instead, has the teacher acting as a facilitator while students work in groups to solve a given problem or task. Games can also be used as a teaching technique but they need to be adapted to the lesson's point. Technology is a great aid too, because it allows the students to conduct indipendent research and is an endless goldmine of both authentic and non-authentic material. The \"Speech Act Theory\" is a language acquisition technique, and a controversial one at it, that divides human utterances into 4 progressive levels : Utterance->Propositional Utterances->Illocutionary Utterances->Perlocutionary Utterances.
