From watching the two videos of the lessons I could clearly see that the second lesson was more efficiently taught than the first lesson. In the first lesson the teacher didn't seem like he was interested to be there, creating an unpleasant environment for the students to learn in. The teacher also expected the students to know what they were supposed to do and telling them it was easy making the students more timid and uncomfortable to participate incase they had the wrong answer. In the second lesson however, the teacher asked for the students names at the beginning of the class and engaged the class by simply asking them to write down different animals then as a group naming these different animals. Then he came prepared with pictures of a few animals that they needed to know for their worksheets in the study phase making sure all the students knew the vocabulary before the exercise. After the exercise he involved all the students again by asking them to read out their answers. Then with the activate stage he once again came prepared with a drawing of an animal he created to give an example of the activity. From these two videos I could see how important it is to come into class with a smile on your face, show the students that you are interested in what your teaching and to build a rapport with your students. If the teacher does these three simple things then they are more likely to have an engaged class interested and willing to learn.
