Teach English in Lemin Zhen - Zhanjiang Shi
The sixth unit includes two video lessons in which the same topic was taught however which are absolutely different. It is obvious that the second lesson is being taught effectively while in the first one the teacher is making many mistakes. In the first lesson the teacher treats students in an unfriendly way while in the second lesson the teacher?s attitude is positive. At the beginning of the second lesson the teacher asks students? names, the teacher using his smile throughout the lesson which helps him to build a better rapport with the students. Thus in the second lesson students are willing to participate in class activity, but in the first one they are not. In the first lesson the students have difficulty in answering teacher?s questions as the teacher does not give a clear explanation to the topic of the lesson, as a result students look confused. However in the second lesson the students show high level of participation as the teacher uses pictures, write the examples on the board and also uses his gestures and miming. To sum up, after watching the two ESA demonstration video, I have compared and analyzed all the parts of it, which gave me a clear picture of how the teacher should and should not behave during the class. This unit is really beneficial for my future career as I have learnt that the attitude that the teacher comes into the class with will have a profound effect on the successful results of the lesson.
