This unit helped me to understand really fun and creative ways to teach English. I have actually taught English for business in a 1 on 1 setting in the past and the unit did reflect my experiences accurately. I agree that it is important to consider the fact that adult learners may be tired, however they do tend to be extremely motivated. In fact, I actually found my students' motivation and drive to be a challenge for me as a new teacher. I would advise all new teachers to be aware that sometimes, we may feel intimidated by adult learners who are extremely motivated because sometimes, excitement or drive can create a sense of pressure for the instructor that can be difficult to manage. It is important that, as the authority on the language, instructors be ready to address questions that we may not have the answers to. For example, as an American English speaker, I found myself being asked questions about which form or type of English is \"the correct one\". While it is true that all forms of English are equally \"correct\" in some contexts British English may be preferred over American English or vice versa. Therefore, the suggestion in this unit to find out as much background information about the company or the professional arena that our students are working for/in is crucial. Questions may arise that we will have to look into and respond to and we must be prepared to have a professional manner for doing so, even when we do not know the answer immediately.
