I believe this unit could have been better explained with ore examples especially for the conditions. As for the diagram I still don't understand what that diagram is saying. Therefore, I don't know why it was included. However, I do appreciate the difference between reported and direct speech, those were clear cut.After learning about stress, I realize why people on the internet tend to type certain words in caps lock. Speakers stress a word to convey the import word of the sentence. I also learn that sound joining is often used in English which explains why certain people either omit or change the pronunciations of the word.
