This unit gives a very detailed understanding of the way words are pronounced. The phonemic symbols are a must to understand and remember when the students are being taught how to use a dictionary.Also the different ways a word can be pronounced depending where a native English speaker comes from was very informative.In this unit I learned a lot about how reading and listening influence the knowledge you have in a language and how important they are to learning a language. I got to know the reasons why they are so important and how they influence the knowledge you have/will get of a language and your understanding of that language.
