From this unit I have learnt the equal importance of reading as listening as receptive skills, and how to structure a lesson based around the learning of these receptive skills. I have learnt how to build up a potential students confidence in this area and various types of reading skills such as scanning, skimming etc.I learnt that phonology and pronunciation is very important. Lately teachers don't teach it well. But we as teachers should teach it as it is very important. One of the most important skills when using the phonemic alphabet is to not pay much attention to the way the word is written, but to listen to the way it sounds.
