Activate 10 min T-S Task 2 ? Summary of what I?ve gained and learned: The EFL teacher needs to find ways to make difficult and sometimes boring things easy and interesting. Students can learn together in pairs and groups, providing teacher with time to monitor and evaluate while they take some of the teaching load from the teacher. But the teacher needs to always be aware of students? specific learning needs and challenges, and adjust lessons and pacing accordingly, while always keeping it positive. By using the EST (Engage-Study-Activate) method, we can keep the lessons lively and fun, while still covering detailed, challenging material at various learning levels. We need to use the wealth of teaching aids available, especially games but also videos and recording devices. If students can hear themselves they will actively participate in correcting themselves. And if they can do that together, through role plays, news casts, etc., they can stimulate and correct each other. And stronger students can help weaker ones. These teaching aids and games should be used as supplement to course books, which, if carefully evaluated and properly adapted with fresh material, can help to structure the learning experience and guide in the coverage of learning requirements. I will in coming days and weeks be evaluating and adapting available lesson plans and teaching aids in order to be ready with a collection of solid plans and materials for my first classes.
