This unit was about the different ways of assessing students through testing and the basic purposes behind a syllabus. There are various forms of testing students and each way has a different purpose behind it. Some tests are designed to determine student ability for determining which level the student should be placed in or where the student needs the most improvement before the class begins. There are also progress tests to show how the student has improved and achievement tests to demonstrate student mastery of a level of English. This course also discussed the different kinds of syllabus and the factors to take into consideration for each different one.
