Unit 18 was primarily focused on modal and phrasal verbs along with their usages and forms. The basic rules for using modal auxiliary verbs were explained in the context of the different ideas that need to be expressed. The unit then covered active and passive voice forms and their proper usage. Teaching ideas were presented, as well as common student errors, which may occur. The three types of relative clauses were also presented, as well as the differences between defining (essential information) and non-defining (non-essential information) clauses. The unit concluded with a discussion of the three types of phrasal verbs and the differences between them.
