Teaching production skills, namely speaking and writing skills, are the main focus of this chapter. I learnt that there is a difference between fluency and accuracy, and that it is important to note which one I want to focus on in each phase of my lesson. Depending on whether fluency or accuracy is the focus, there will be different activities that are appropriate for the students. Similarly, when fluency is emphasized, it is important to ensure that students have enough freedom to control the output of their speech. On the other hand, when accuracy is the focus, the teacher can take more control of the language produced by the students during class activities.
