This unit focused on pronunciation and phonology. Both are very important skills for English learners to build upon. While sometimes neglected in the classroom, phonetics and pronunciation are actually great ways to help your students say words and sentences correctly. There are so many irregular words and spellings in the English language, so knowledge of phonetics is a great way for students to learn all the irregularities of words. You don't have to spend an entire lesson on pronunciation, but you can! For me personally, I enjoy the idea of having a day every week or so (depending on how often the class is held) dedicated to pronunciation and phonology.
