This unit is about books and materials using by teachers. Course books are a very emotive issue for many teachers. Almost every published course book has its fans and its detractors. The choice of whether or not to use a course book can be quite a complex issue. In an ideal world schools would have all the books and materials the teacher could need. The reality is a bit different. This means that often the teacher has to create own materials to either supplement the course book, or replace sections that are not suitable for the class. For many students materials created by teachers are more interesting, more relevant and a welcome change from the course book.
