In this lesson, we learned about how to teach productive skills to students. Productive skills include speaking and writing, which are often not carried out enough during class time because it is believed that students should spend more time listening to the teacher. This leads many students to not develop their writing skills as quickly as other skills. The lesson suggested engaging students in conversation or in writing by presenting topics that interest them or using games to make class time more active and dynamic. Teachers can encourage student participation by creating a safe, comfortable environment in which students can make mistakes and learn from them.
