I have learned the various forms and usages of the four principles of the present tense. The present tense affirms or negates actions that currently take place, or speaks of the aforementioned action within the present even though it may not be (such as a monthly routine). The present continuous similarly refers to current actions but also that these actions may be ongoing. The present perfect tense relates an action that has happened in the indefinite past, or that the action simply began in the past, into the present. Lastly the present perfect continuous is used when the action has taken place in the past and will continue into the present and possible future.
