I would like to make my comments item by item for this unit : - Teachers should really get the advantage of using listening skills for entertainment especially when learners need motivation - Scanning or skimming should be selected preferably according to difficulty of a text rather than (initially) learners' interest. My point is that learners' interest should not be the first focus particularly for this approach because either of them could be time-saving - I do think using stories for receptive skills would not be a good preference for STARTER LEARNERS. It may be a challenging situation for them. Teachers must take time and check learners' levels to use stories
