Unit # 2 discusses the various roles of the teacher, e.g., instructor, facilitator, counselor, mentor, and policeman. The unit discusses the teaching of adults, to include groups and individuals, and the various concerns the teacher needs to take into consideration when teaching adults; the unit also discusses language skills involving listening, reading, speaking and writing, and the skills students want and need. Finally, the unit discusses the various teaching methods to include grammar translation, the silent way, task based learning, the audio-lingualism, presentation, practice, and production (known as PPP), the Engage, Study, Activate method known as ESA.
