This unit showed a good understanding of how teachers and students should both behave. That it is important for teachers to be patient, caring, kind, lively and knowledgable throughout their teaching experience. It also showed that it is just as important for the student to be in the right learning mode, by being willing to listen, learn, make errors and experiment with the language. Generally if the teachers can have these qualities, they will most likely have good students wanting to focus and learn. One quality especially that i think is important for the teacher to always have is a love for what they do, a love for teaching and a love for making it interesting, because then the students will reciprocate that back. If they see that their teacher and model feels that way, it makes the students a lot more engaged and interested too. It is also important to acknowledge the differences between younger students and adult students when teaching. Younger students will be less focused, easier distracted and not as interested, where as adult students will be a lot more engaged and motivated to learn. This is usually because adult students have chosen to be there, where as younger students haven't. Every student will be different and it is important to make sure you get to know where they are all at, especially with their language level, ranging from beginner to advanced. Which i have now more specifically learnt the meaning of all the levels. This unit was insightful and i learnt a lot.
