This unit talks about placement tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practice tests, and external examinations. I have learned that placement tests are given in the beginning of an English course to assess the students' knowledge in order to place the students in the correct class according to their language ability. This will allow the teacher to verify the language level of the student. Furthermore, this unit explains how placement tests include multiple choice questions to assess the students' knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, as well as a spoken interview to assess the students' communication ability. Additionally, I learned that diagnostic tests are designed for the teacher to assess what the students already know and what they don't know. This test is also given at the beginning of the course.
