I would like to say that I am a bit confused with several parts of this unit, for example, in the video on reported speech, ((Cory said, ''We are moving house next week''.)) The teacher there said that the correct back shift would be ''Cory said that they were moving house the following week''. Of course, I agree with this grammar., but I was thinking if I were to look at this statement from a different viewpoint, and Cory was my husband saying ''We are moving house next week.'' If my brother, (who is staying with us and ultimately moving with us...((hypothetically)) asked what Cory, my husband said, the reported speech would be, ''Cory said that we are moving house the following week'' So although most parts of the sentence structure are pretty much the same, from the view point of my different perspective, there could be another reality waiting for a backstage answer. I get this a lot in Japan, where the subject is omitted and person one is having a conversation with, is Expected to know who they are talking about...but sometimes...as I have just pointed out....language can never be clear cut...for too many reasons.
