This unit clearly laid out the various types of assessment that a teacher of ESL might need to use. I appreciated the concise descriptions of each type of assessment (placement, diagnostic, progress, achievement, practice, external, etc.) and when and how to use each. I also appreciated the brief descriptions of the most popular external tests that students may want (or be required) to take; this section will be a nice reference for future use.
