This Unit provides clear descriptions of a large variety of language teaching methods. Despite the ESA approach being the most appropriate and adaptive for the purpose of this course, these methods can still be drawn upon in part to create effective lesson plans. This Unit gives an extremely descriptive breakdown of the ESA learning strategy and how the structure, which can be varied, benefits learners of different abilities and provides great starting examples of what to include in each of the Engage, Study and Activate sections of the lesson. It emphasises the importance of having the students 'warm up' to speaking the language at the start of each lesson with tasks and games that get them thinking in the target language and preparing themselves to learn. I also felt I learnt a lot about correction, specifically the difference between mistakes and errors and the appropriate times and methods for correction. It is important to allow students to self-correct where possible, stay positive and allow for mistakes if accuracy isn't the aim of that particular activity. Sometimes engagement is more important than accuracy.
