This unit provides an overview of effective classroom management. First, it gives specific instruction as to how the teacher should operate physically and verbally within the classroom and details the use of gestures, eye contact, and voice control. It then moves on to provide the positive and negative attributes of the ways to group students, how and when to use various seating arrangements, and the position of the teacher within the classroom. The unit then moves on to explain the use of teacher and student talking time, the most effective ways to provide instructions, and examples of how teachers can maintain discipline within the classroom. The unit, concludes with a list of ways to establish positive rapport between the teacher and students.
