This unit introduces the subject of evaluating and testing your students’ language skills.Included are a wide variety of tests that can be used before, during and at the end of an English language course. The utilization of a 'placement test' is an example of a test given at the beginning of the course to assess the students' language ability and subsequent division into groups based on their levels. The unit concludes with desciptions of a number of external tests including the TOEFL,IELTS and TOEIC.Various Cambridge Assessment examinations like the KET,PET and FCE as well as Trinity College London's, ESOL Skills for Life (UK) are presented.
