This unit covered how an instructor can best assess their student's skills -- and the different options they can use to do so. We were introduced to the idea of using Diagnostic tests to initially test our students -- and then to administer progress tests throughout the course work. We were also taught about the external exams that students might have to take to assess their language abilities. This aspect of the course gave me a good sense of what to look for: Reading, Writing, speaking and listening skills -- in order to gain a good understanding of what my students' strengths and weaknesses are.
