This unit focuses on the classroom management, which includes organizing the class, individual students within the class and what takes place within that class. To achieve the best effectiveness during the class a teacher should know how to use his/her voice as well as the body language well, which can in many aspects, like controlling the discipline, encouraging students, reducing the teacher talking time etc. Classroom arrangement is of great importance too. Orderly rows, circles and horseshoes, separate tables etc. Some of them are good for classroom control (orderly rows, for instance); others are used for the pair work (like circles and horseshoes). Position of a teacher plays an important role as well. Standing position is good for controlling and presenting the new material, but can create pressure and feeling of being dominated among the students when overused. Sitting position is used during group or individual work. To sum up, type of arrangement, voice, visual clues, gestures, teacher?s position, eye contact should be used the way which meets the particular objectives of this or that task and a lesson in general.
