This unit discussed modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. For passive voice, the unit outlined the different tenses of passive voice. Often in the curriculum at the school I work at, passive voice is often introduced mainly in present simple or past simple tense. However, when passive voice appears in present perfect or past perfect, my students become confused and have difficulty identifying it as passive voice. Seeing a breakdown of how passive voice looks in different tenses will help me to introduce it to my students so they can at least identify it as passive voice if they see it in the future. This unit also discussed modals. While I have been able to teach modals to my students in the past, this unit was a helpful reinforcement to what I already understood. It was especially useful to see the different modals listed along with their usages. Phrasal verbs were particularly interesting to me because I had seen these verbs before, but I did not know there was a specific term. These words sound very native and I hope I can incorporate them in to my lessons in hopes that my students will eventually pick up on them.
