I found this unit extremely practically useful. There has been a lot of focus hitherto on the classroom setting, however many ESL classes are non-conventional. I have a large amount of students that I teach one-on-one and I was interested in the suggestions provided for both teaching beginners and teaching individuals. I liked the titles provided for categorizing new students as I think curriculum could be built around these levels. Furthermore, I thought the suggestions for teaching individual students were very creative and yet, practical. Offering suitable one-on-one activities helped me to confirm that I am on the right track with my own students and emphasized the plethora of opportunities that one-on-one teaching offers: the ability to really gear work towards students' individual needs and experiences, as well as their interests. The second part of the unit, which focused on teaching the business English students, gave me some new templates and perspective on teaching English. This is an area that I would like to expand into and I appreciated some more information on it, such as providing a template for a 'needs analysis'.
