This unit focused on how to manage classes, different seating situations, discipline (when needed) and how to make a class more enjoyable by incorporating techniques that allow the teacher to be there when needed as a guide but not overly bearing. This section definitely targeted the beginners TEFL course or young learners because of my own experience growing up in school. Eye contact, gestures, your voice and using student names felt very simple and 2nd nature for what a teacher needed to do because of the simple fact that a teacher is meant to guide, help, and teach students rather than act like an authority figure (authority comes in when discipline is needed). Something I found really interesting was the discipline section as it stated that you don't put out threats you can't carry out. I found it slightly off-putting because of how from my experiences the word \"threat\" was seen as a bad connotation. I find that threats wouldn't be a good way to discipline someone if they're doing something wrong. The parts with threats was very off-putting but overall for the unit I learned some new things I will add to my notes on teaching.
