As a trained teacher who has worked with dyslexic and special education students I understand the difficulty in finding time for a student to write-especially in creative writing. I have found this needs a good deal of support and encouragement and can be very challenging for students. This unit does give clear guidelines and help for this. An emphasis on fun is important. In my experience students not only engage well with fun activities and games but tend to better retain the information/subject matter of the activity. I enjoyed considering lots of games which you recorded and then thinking of more for myself. Speaking is an easier and probably more motivational skill compared to writing. In my own experience of learning a foreign language I remember enjoying speaking and learning vocabulary but writing with all the required accuracy was very difficult and seemed beyond reach at times. I doubt we were given enough practise and rehearsal time. Whereas, in modern methodology, it is great to see the student is more supported. A teacher will go back and help fill in gaps in knowledge or skills rather than pushing through a curriculum.
