This unit focuses on the course material, specifically coursebooks and authentic material. IT points out the differences between coursebooks, authentic materials and created material and how the pertain to each other and in what scenarios to use said materials. Each method has different pros and cons associated with them and teachers need to have in depth understanding of students and material so as to properly use materials so that students can get the most out of learning. I learned what to look for in a course book that would make it suitable for students. Such as the price and design, which influences its effectiveness on certain cultures and age groups of the students who are being taught. As with all the material ive learned so far it shows the intense importance of using discernment when teaching students of different cultures and age groups. Not following the guidance of this course could have a detrimental affect on students.
