In this chapter, I have learned that it is crucial to introduce the meaning, use, syntactic placement, interaction, pronunciation, and spelling of vocabulary words to students. Without this information, students will be missing pieces of the puzzle and will be unable to fully utilize the vocabulary. SImilarly, students must be instructed on the meaning, usage, spoken or written context that affects the form, and patterns surrounding a grammar structure. All in all the outline of ESA lessons demonstrated in this chapter rendered me more informed and prepared to construct my own lesson outlining vocabulary or grammar structures.
