This unit was a good review for me of the basic parts of speech of the English language. These are the foundations that a good teacher must be able to understand, use, and explain in a way that even a beginner can understand. Having these clear explanations of the parts of speech has helped me to feel more prepared to teach. It has also challenged me to consider more deeply how I might be able to explain these concepts myself. I had not personally heard before about the \"zero\" article as a way to explain when neither the definite or indefinite article should be used. I plan to incorporate this idea into my future lessons.
