This section was all about phonetics and pronunciation. Learning how we physically form words and the different parts of words helps to better understand the language, both as a teacher and a learner. Knowing the phonetic alphabet will be a useful tool in teaching. Learning to listen for the differences in which we write and speak English will help in being able to be the most effective teacher possible. If I can identify differences in language to help students speak more naturally , or with more ease, then that is a great thing. The phonetic alphabet will help in learning new words as well as how to naturally pronounce them.
