I have learnt that reading and listening are equally important. Based from experience, some students have preference of which skill they need to improve on. For example, listening is the weakness, they would request if this particular skill is given a focal study. Before conducting this activity, I need to engage them first and perhaps introduce some vocabulary or expressions they will directly encounter in the entire listening. It is also good to check their comprehension after listening. Reading, on the other hand, needs to focus on understanding words and check immediately if a student encounters difficulty in comprehension.
