This unit was very useful as I learned about the different ways we evaluate students, namely tutorial, evaluations by the students and tests. There are many different types of tests that serve us with different purposes such as placement tests, diagnostic tests,progress tests, achievement tests, proficiency tests and external examinations. Examples of general external examinations include TOEFL, IELTS and TOEIC. Other tests include Cambridge Assessment which includes general English tests such as KET, PET, FCE, CAT and CPE. Cambridge exams also include Skills for Life ESOL exams as well as Business English exams BEC and BULATS.
